About Carla
Carla Rodriguez is originally from the Dominican Republic, where she graduated high school in 2010 with a focus on IT Technician studies and basic accounting for small businesses. She continued her education in Business Administration from 2010 to 2012, building a strong foundation in finance and business operations.
Professional Experience
During her studies, Carla worked in the financial sector with Banco Popular in the AFP (Pension Fund Administrator), specializing in pension enrollment. This role gave her valuable insight into financial planning, retirement security, and the importance of social protection for workers. In 2013, Carla moved to the United States and began working for ABM at Lehigh University, where she has built over 11 years of professional experience. Throughout her career, she has developed strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and teams.
Union Leadership & Experience
In 2022, Carla stepped into union leadership as a Steward for Teamsters Local 773, where she represents members and advocates for their rights. She completed the Teamsters Local 773 Steward Seminar in 2023 and has actively contributed to several union committees, including the Women’s Committee and the Futures Members Committee. Through these roles, Carla has played an important part in promoting fairness, equality, and stronger workplace protections.
Community Impact & Leadership
Beyond his responsibilities at Local 773, Brian serves as President of the Teamster Horsemen Motorcycle Association Chapter 53 North, an organization he helped establish in 2010. The association focuses on community fundraising and welcomes new members. Brian also volunteers for organizations such as the Second Harvest Food Bank, the Teamster Local 773 Scholarship Golf Tournament, and actively participates in his church community.
Training & Development
Carla has gained valuable contract negotiation experience through her work as a Steward and union representative. On May 25, 2023, she completed the Lehigh Valley Activist Academy at Penn State’s School of Labor and Employment Relations. She also earned a Certificate of Completion in New Officer Training and Education from the 2025 Teamsters Leadership Academy, held January 13–16, 2025.

Personal Life
Carla is a married mother of three children and resides in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Since moving to the city, she has embraced the opportunities it has provided for both personal and professional growth. Through her journey, she has learned that teamwork, dedication, and commitment are the foundation for meaningful change in both work and life.
